Our Mission

Our Mission is to converge the diverse Ohio equine industry, harnessing its passion and grassroots resources to promote the economic, recreational and historical significance of all breeds and disciplines through advocacy and statewide education and awareness.

The Ohio Equine Industry Coalition has been recognized as the spokes group for the equine industry in Ohio, and our primary focus is to serve as a resource to equine groups and organizations. Our Goals

• Advocate
• Develop a strong coalition of the entire equine industry in Ohio, including agricultural, business, association and educational interests.
• Mobilize a grassroots network across Ohio, utilizing existing equine organizations’ structures wherever possible.
• Inform elected officials on the economic, recreational and historical significance of the Ohio equine industry and how potential legislation would positively or negatively impact OEIC members.
• Educate
• Work with educational entities from 4-H through higher education to ensure Ohio youth are exposed to the horse and opportunities in the equine industry.
• Communicate to OEIC members, and to other important stakeholders, issues of importance to the equine industry and ways to effectively assist OEIC initiatives.
• Publicize
• Promote benefits and beauty of the industry, as well as the issues it faces, to the general public through various media mediums.
• Act as an central clearinghouse for information on the equine industry and work with the media as a subject matter expert to ensure veracity and exposure of information relevant to the OEIC and its members.
